Today, Paul katz, together with inspector Fernandes, were suppose to get into Lee's apartment to look for a will, suppose she had left one.
28/9/2000 Lee's birthdate. Finaly, the apartment has been entered.
a strange thing, not only that this is her day of birth, but the exact time her apartment was finaly opened was the hour of her birth: 4:00 pm (11:00 pm israel time) - "curiouser and curiouser.." -alice, "Alice in Wonderland" This is a Letter we recived from Paul who visited the apartment with the police detective :
I just got back from the apartment. Let me describe it. It is about 10' by 10'.-One room with a locked bathroom on the floor. She had a big bed probably a queen size in one corner. Opposite the bed was a TV. A small one, not connected to cable sitting on a table. It was probably a 12" tv. under the tv was a cd player and some cd's. It is what the kids call a boom box. Probably worth about .00. Next there was a box that had a new coffee maker. There was also another coffee maker on the table. Next to the tv Lee had a box filled with shoes. She had at least 10 or more pair of shoes. Then came the refrigerator which contained some milk, coffee and two bottles of beer. Next is a window facing the back courtyard. Lee had about 18 pennies taped together on the window sill. In front of the window was a small table, where she probably ate. Next to the table was a suitcase till packed and very heavy. It contained sweaters mostly and some jeans. There were personal papers in there and I took them all. They will be in the package I will send you. Along the next wall was a dresser. I searched the dresser and it only
contained clothes. They were packed very neatly in the two drawers. On the dresser was a shoe box filled with packages of pictures. Most of the pictures were just of her room, people on the street and some of herself. I took some of those and I am sending them too. Their were photos all over the walls. The reason the police thought they
were the family was because she just took piictures of interesting people on the street and hung them up. there are other papers in the room. They are mostly receipts for the shoes and clothes she bought, and stubs and programs from rock concerts she went to. Everything I found in Hebrew I took and will be sending them in the package. Next I will contact Lousie Lippman and find out what we should do next. When we get the proper papers, I will get in touch with the fellow in Montreal to help me pack up the apartment. I took pictures of everything in the apartment including the photos on the wall. I am sending you the roll of film. After I talk to Lippman, I will let you know what is next. Please call Leo Fine and tell him what is doing. I will call him after I speak to the Lawyer.
Have a good Yom tov.
Paul
